NBA Roundup: Celtics and Thunder Dominate, Lakers Secure Second Victory

Los Boston Celtics, with their 56th victory in 70 gamesy Oklahoma City Thunder, forceful in the field of the Toronto Raptorscontinued their brilliant moment this Friday and confirmed themselves leaders respectively of the East and West of the NBA.

They did it on a day in which Los Angeles Lakers sealed their second consecutive victory to reinforce their place in the Western play-in led by a great Anthony Davis.

PISTONS 102 – CELTICS 129

The losses of Jayson Tatum and the Dominican Al Horford did not stop the Celtics, who sealed their eighth consecutive victory at the pace of Jaylen Brown (33 points).

The Celtics, already qualified for the playoffs, could also count on 20 points from Payton Pritchard and 19 from Kristaps Porzingis.

Oklahoma City Thunder destroyed a Raptors full of absences with 23 points from Shai Gilgeous Alexander and a double double of 18 points and ten rebounds from insider Chet Holmgren.

The Thunder lead the West with a balance of 49 wins and 20 losses, while the Raptors have accumulated nine losses in a row and are twelfth in the East with 23 wins and 47 losses.

LAKERS 101 – 76ERS 94

The Lakers became strong at the Crypto.com Arena and, after beating the Atlanta Hawks, added a victory against the 76ers to reinforce their ninth position in the West, driven by a monumental double-double of 23 points and 19 rebounds by Anthony Davis .

LeBron James contributed 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Angelenos. The 76ers’ leading scorer was Tyrese Maxey, with 37 points.

TIMBERWOLVES 104 – CAVALIERS 91

With a great group performance and six players with double figures, the Wolves beat the Cavs at home to celebrate their fourth victory in the last five games.

Mike Conley led the Wolves in scoring with 21 points, while Anthony Edwards contributed a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds.

HEAT 88 – PELICANS 111

The Pelicans walked in Miami with a festival of 18 triples (50% success), six of them signed by CJ McCollum; Trey Murphy contributed fourteen points and four three-pointers.

A great contribution to the victory came from Puerto Rican José Alvarado coming off the bench with 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

The Pelicans could not count on Brandon Ingram, who underwent an MRI this Friday that revealed a bruise on a knee that will keep him out of the court for about two weeks, but serious injuries were excluded.

WARRIORS 111 – PACERS 123

Tyrese Haliburton (26 points and 11 assists) and Pascal Siakam (25 points and 16 rebounds) led the Pacers’ victory in the Bay Area and put the Warriors in trouble, who are tenth in the West (36-33), pressured by some Houston Rockets (34-35) on a roll.

Steph Curry’s 25 points, ten rebounds and six three-pointers were not enough for the Warriors, who must fight to maintain their place in the play-in.

SPURS 97 – GRIZZLIES 99

Jaren Jackson (28 points) scored the decisive shot with one second left to give the Grizzlies the victory in the Spurs’ field and spoil the double double of 31 points and 16 rebounds by Frenchman Victor Wembanyama. The first pick in the last draft also had five assists, three blocks and two steals.

Spanish Santi Aldama contributed a double double of fifteen points and thirteen rebounds for the Grizzlies.

TRAIL BLAZERS 117 – CLIPPERS 125

With a first half of 70 points, the Clippers put the visit to the Blazers downhill, in which Paul George scored 31 points and Kawhi Leonard, 22.

James Harden contributed a double double of fifteen points and ten assists. For the Blazers, the top scorer was Scoot Henderson with 24 points.
