NBA News: Phoenix gets All-Star Game 2027
The 2027 NBA All-Star Game will take place in Phoenix, Arizona. The league officially announced this on Friday. For the first time since 2009 and the fourth time overall, the city with around 1.6 million inhabitants will host the event.
This season, the All-Star Game took place in Indianapolis; previously, smaller markets – and cities with colder climates – took place, such as Cleveland and Salt Lake City. Media reports then made the rounds that the NBA was now targeting larger markets with new regulations regarding existing hotel and flight capacities.
The league had stated that you could still apply for the game. “If a city doesn’t meet those requirements, you can still host if other requirements are met,” Sport Business Journal quoted an NBA executive as saying in February.
In 2025, the All-Star Game will take place at the Golden State Warriors’ Chase Center.
