NBA: Early end to the season for Raptors after defeat

For the Toronto Raptors, the season in the National Basketball Association (NBA) definitely ends on April 14th. After a 101:145 home defeat against the New York Knicks on Wednesday (local time), the club of Viennese Jakob Pöltl, who is recovering from finger surgery, theoretically no longer has a chance of reaching the play-in of the strongest basketball league in the world.

LeBron James achieved this in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 136:124 win against the Memphis Grizzlies. The 39-year-old, who had been missing recently, shone with 23 points, 14 rebounds and twelve assists. It was a close affair in Philadelphia, where the Los Angeles Clippers won against the 76ers 108:107. The Minnesota Timberwolves became the fourth team to reach the mark of 50 wins this season with a 106:91 win against the Detroit Pistons.
