NBA: $25,000 fine for Fournier

The French guard from Detroit was sanctioned by the NBA for sending a ball into the stands on Sunday.

“He made four three-pointers this season, I checked”breathes Evan Fournier. «Il»it’s Bam Adebayo, author of the winning basket at the buzzer for Miami, against Detroit (104-101), Sunday. “It’s basketball. It’s like that…”, continued the Frenchman, author of 18 points in this meeting. A frustrating defeat, one more for the Pistons, the 55th since the start of the season. Transferred to Michigan in February, Fournier let out his anger at the final whistle, kicking the ball with his foot. The swelling went into the air, not towards the stands, but the NBA only moderately appreciated this reaction. She imposed a fine of $25,000 on the international tricolor for having sent… “the ball in the stands”.

Placarded in New York, Evan Fournier, 31, averages 7.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 16.9 minutes per game, in 15 games, since he was sent to Detroit, before last in the NBA standings. A return to the game which obviously suits the French team. Vincent Collet will not have to be faced with the dilemma he would have had to face if Fournier had had to go through a second season without playing time in New York.
