It is a national-scale tournament which will be played, Saturday March 9 and Sunday March 10, 2024, in the Olympe and Dutertre halls of La Ferté-Bernard. Organized by the local badminton club, the event will welcome 328 players. It is a tournament which will bring together junior players, seniors and veterans, indicates Jean-François Lecerf, responsible for competitions at the Fertois club and member of the tournament organizing committee.

Over two days, the 328 players selected will compete in 486 matches divided between the Olympe and Dutertre rooms. On Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., men’s and women’s singles matches as well as mixed doubles will be held, explains Jean-François Lecerf. On Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. the women’s and men’s doubles will be held, he adds. Around €4,000 in prizes will be awarded to players present.
Around thirty badists from the Fertois club engaged
In total, 88 clubs are mobilized. Players will come from Marseille, Lyon, Troyes, but also from the Paris region, Pays de la Loire and Center-Val de Loire, specifies Jean-François Lecerf. Local clubs will nevertheless be widely represented with around thirty Fertois but also players from clubs in Spay, Mulsanne and Le Mans. All the bad players present play in the rankings ranging from D9 to N2.

In order to coordinate the tournament, around forty volunteers will be mobilized. Spectators will be able to freely access the different matches.
