Murray withdraws from Monte-Carlo tournament

Injured ankle during the Master 1000 in Miami, the Briton canceled his participation in the tournaments in Monte-Carlo and Munich.

While he made a good comeback against Tomas Machac in the third round of the Master 1000 in Miami (5-7, 7-5, 7-6), the Scot was seriously injured by partially rupturing his calcaneofibular ligament .

While the exact duration of his absence has not been communicated, his team has stated that Andy Murray “made the decision to miss the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters and the BMW Open Munich”. On the other hand, the former world number 1 expresses his desire to participate in Roland-Garros.

Aged 36, Andy Murray is probably playing his last year on the international circuit. Wimbledon and the Olympics remain his main goals.
