In a race with very little overtaking, Pedro Acosto (KTM GasGas) once again put on a show with his spectacular riding, completing the podium. For his 2nd race in Moto GP, the young 19-year-old Spaniard made a splash by brilliantly overtaking Brad Binder, Marc Marquez then Francesco Bagnaia to take a superb 3rd place. After his 9th place in Qatar, the rookie confirms his ease on the handlebars and could be the revelation of the season.

The end of the race was animated by a collision between Bagnaia and Marc Marquez which ended in the gravel trap. On the French side, Fabio Quartararo, world champion in 2021, finished in 7th place. Johann Zarco finished in 15th position and only collected one point.
