More racism in Spain, Vinicius Jr ”despicable episodes” – Football

“I won’t even play this weekend, but in the meantime, this Saturday alone, we have already had three despicable incidents of racism in Spain.” Thus, on the social network

Vinicius’ post refers to what happened yesterday in the match between Getafe and Sevilla, suspended for a few minutes in the 23rd minute after the Argentinian of the Andalusian team Marcos Acuna was made the subject of chants in which the Getafe fans called him of the monkey. It was then Acuna himself who reported it to the referee Javier Iglesias Villanueva. Subsequently, there were similar insults for Sevilla coach Quique Flores.

In Serie C, however, the match between El Sestao River and Rayo Majadahonda was first suspended and then definitively interrupted due to the abandonment of the pitch by the Rayo players after their goalkeeper Sarr, a black player, had been insulted by the supporters behind his goal. At first Sarr attempted to take justice into his own hands, then his companions left as a sign of solidarity.

“All my support to Acuña and the coach Quique Flores, of Sevilla – writes Vinicius Jr -. And for Sarr and @RMajadahonda: may their courage inspire others. Racists must be identified and matches must not continue with them in the stands We will only win when racists go straight from the stadium to prison, the place they deserve to be.”
