The Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic (Lidom) reported this Wednesday that the referees who will act in the preseason games to be held in the country by the Boston Reds Sox and the Tampa Ray, will give a rules and field clinic to the staff of referees who work at Lidom.

VItelio Mejía, president of the entity, reported that the clinic was conducted by the Dominican MLB referee, Ramón de Jesús Ferrer, and the entire team that will perform in the games that will be held on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10 of this year will participate. year at the Quisqueya stadium, Juan Marichal.

The MLB referees will be commanded by Larry Young, major league supervisor accompanied by Laz Díaz as group leader, our own Ramón de Jesús Ferrer, Roberto Ortiz and Erick Bacchus.

Ferrer said that, “our team of referees will be sharing theoretical experiences in the seventh heaven and practice on the field with the referees of the Dominican winter league,” said Ferrer.
He added “this is one of the many ways in which I can thank Lidom, my 16 years in the league, where I was able to acquire a lot of knowledge that allowed me to first reach the minor league system and then to MLB.”

VItelio Mejía thanked the Dominican referee for the gesture and was sure that what the local referees learned will benefit their knowledge and they will apply it in the local tournament.
