Maximilian Beier: Shooting His Way to the Home European Championships?

Is HE shooting his way to the home European Championships?

Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier (21) shoots down Bremen single-handedly and scores his second brace in a row in TSG’s 2-1 win. Last weekend he shocked BVB with a brace within four minutes!

One for Nagelsmann?

One thing is clear: the TSG jewel is having an outstanding Bundesliga season with 12 goals and 6 assists. National coach Julian Nagelsmann (36) will certainly also think of Beier when he names the squad for the friendly games against France and Holland in March.

Does national coach Julian Nagelsmann see Beier as a candidate for the European Championship?

Baller-Beier doesn’t need any start-up time! The first strike in the 8th minute: Hoffenheim corner, Beier creates some space and hits a wonderful volley into the left corner – 1-0!

Afterwards, Hoffenheim remains the better team, Bremen first has to digest the setback. Bitter for Werder: Top chances from Agu (22nd) and Ducksch (39th/post) are missed – and then Beier comes again!

44th minute: Bebou brings the ball to the second post from the right side, Beier hits it directly – 2-0!

In the end, Hoffenheim has to tremble again! First Bülter sees yellow-red after a hard kick against Schmid (73′) and then Alvero makes it exciting again with his fine heel goal (90’+2). The first goal for the tallest Bundesliga player (2.02 meters).

Controversial scene: Beier gets the ball in the 70th minute just before Bremen’s Malatini, who then hits the TSG gem on the leg. Referee Jöllenbeck checks the scene on the monitor, many expect a penalty whistle – but it doesn’t happen!

Werder has a Matarazzo allergy!

Bremen remains the TSG coach’s favorite opponent. The American celebrates his fifth win (a draw) in his sixth game against Bremen! Matarazzo has a better personal record against no other team.

His counterpart is served because: Beier prevents the Werner party! Bremen and Werner could have set a historic club record with a clean sheet away win. It would have been the fourth in a row – that’s never happened before! So there are three – like Otto Rehhagel in the 1981/82 season…

While Bremen missed a record, Maxi Beier might soon set new ones – also in the national team…?
