Mavericks Hold Off Spurs 113-107: Irving and Doncic Lead the Way

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Kyrie Irving scored 28 points, Luka Doncic had 18 points and 16 assists and the Dallas Mavericks held off the San Antonio Spurs to win 113-107 on Tuesday.

Dallas (40-29) trails Sacramento (39-28) in points percentage in the fight for sixth place in the Western Conference, the last direct berth to the postseason.

Tre Jones scored 22 points and Devin Vassell added 19 points for San Antonio. Victor Wembanyama contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds for his 37th double-double.

The Mavs swept the four-game series against the Spurs, winning the first three by a difference of 18.3 points. Irving and Doncic were crucial in the final minutes to close out the victory.

After trailing by 13 in the first half, San Antonio began the third and fourth quarters with a run of 11 points. The latter gave the Spurs the lead 95-93 with 6:57 minutes remaining.

There were nine lead changes in the second half, but Dallas went up 102-101 with 3:46 left and never trailed again.
