A Spanish trio dominated the spectacular MotoGP Portuguese Grand Prix sprint race this Saturday at the Portimao circuit. While Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who started 4th, controlled the proceedings, the Italian made a big braking error on the 8th lap (out of 12), which caused him to restart and finish in 4th position. This benefited Maverick Vinales (Aprilia), who didn’t ask for so much. Sick on Friday (gastro), the Spaniard won this second sprint of the season and pocketed 12 points.

Third one lap before the end and in the wheel of Jorge Martin, Marc Marquez (Ducati) subtly overtook his compatriot during the last lap. Which allows him to collect 9 points. Jorge Martin (Ducati), who clearly lost pace during the last two laps, completed the podium (7 points).
