Ronny Deila’s dismissal at Club Brugge is on the table. The Norwegian coach has been under a lot of pressure in recent months. Now it looks like Deila will also be fired.
Unless the board of Club Brugge makes a 180 degree turnaround, Ronny Deila will not be coach of blue-black for much longer. After the defeat, Brugge fans were also very clear: “Deila outside,” they said.
Marc Degryse also doesn’t see things going well anymore. “I am of the opinion that Ronny Deila cannot remain as coach of Club Brugge,” he said at Het Laatste Nieuws. Who believes – after yet another misfire this Sunday – that Deila can, on the one hand, get the team on track tactically, and on the other hand, he can bring the passion and fire into his players?”
Club may still have difficulty finding a replacement, ten match days before the end. “The only reason why Deila is still trainer of Club Brugge today is because the board does not find a worthy alternative. I realize that it is not an easy situation.”
Degryse also sees a nice replacement, although he has already made it clear that he has little interest in it. “For me, Michel Preud’homme is the perfect solution to be head coach for two months. Preud’homme is free, he is tactically strong and can stimulate a group of players. Is he already not sufficiently equipped to give everything for a short period of time? ?”
Degryse also knows a nice coach in the JPL. “On the other hand, I am also charmed by Sint-Truiden coach Thorsten Fink. STVV plays recognizable, well-groomed football. Tactically everything is well and clearly put together. Fink also knows the Belgian competition. You can sign him – being Club Brugge – for a longer contract to offer.”
“But will Fink respond when Club Brugge calls him? Does such a person drop the club where he has been working for a whole year? Presumably not. But it is not up to us to come up with solutions. Club Brugge hopefully has enough people with an eye on the international market to find the right successor for Ronny Deila,” he concludes.
