Barcelona corrects Atlético Madrid and takes second place, Lewandowski in great form

Barça, future opponent of PSG in the quarter-final of the Champions League, largely beat Atlético this Sunday evening (3-0) thanks to a great Lewandowski.

Solid and inspired, FC Barcelona struck a big blow on Sunday by winning the clash against Atlético Madrid (3-0) at the Metropolitano thanks in particular to a huge Robert Lewandowski, and took second place in La Liga behind Real Madrid. Now undefeated for ten matches in all competitions, Barça (2nd, 64 points) finally overtakes its Catalan neighbor Girona (3rd, 62 points) and remains eight lengths behind Real, solid leader, with a Clasico to play in April.

Atlético (5th, 55th points) gives up its fourth place, qualifying for the Champions League, to Athletic Bilbao (4th, 56 points) and is 17 points behind its Madrid rival.

Portuguese striker Joao Félix, on loan from the Colchoneros, opened the scoring at the conclusion of a great collective movement (38th, 1-0) before Robert Lewandowski, decisive passer on the first goal, doubled the lead in the second period (47th, 2-0). The Polish striker did it again on the hour mark by placing a perfect cross on the head of young Fermin Lopez (65th, 3-0) to seal the Catalan victory.
