Magic Brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner Shine as Playoffs Approach in NBA

The Wagners celebrated their ninth win from the last eleven games with Orlando, and Dennis Schröder also celebrated.

Basketball world champions Franz and Moritz Wagner remain on course for the playoffs in the NBA. The two brothers celebrated the Orlando Magic’s 101:89 win over the Charlotte Hornets, their ninth win from the last eleven games. Franz Wagner scored eight points in around half an hour of play, Moritz Wagner scored three points more.

With the win, the Magic moved up to fourth place in the Eastern Conference and can hope for their first play-off participation since the 2019/20 season. There are still 20 games ahead of the Wagner brothers in the regular season.

National team captain Dennis Schröder delivered a strong performance in his Brooklyn Nets’ 112:107 win against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Braunschweiger had 20 points, eight assists and two rebounds. In eleventh place in the East, the Nets can still have hopes for the post-season. Tenth place, which qualifies for participation in the play-in tournament, is just two wins away.

Isaiah Hartenstein and the New York Knicks lost to the Atlanta Hawks 100-116. The German remained largely inconspicuous with five points and six rebounds. As fifth in the East, the Knicks remain on course for the playoffs, which Maximilian Kleber (one rebound) and the Dallas Mavericks still have in sight despite the 120:137 defeat in eighth place in the West against the Indiana Pacers.

The Cleveland Cavaliers conjured up a crazy comeback on the floor. The 2016 NBA champion won against the Boston Celtics, who had won eleven times in a row before the game, 105:104 despite a 22-point deficit in the final quarter. Dean Wade was the celebrated man with 20 points and five three-pointers in the final period.
