Luka Doncic’s Stellar Performance Not Enough as Mavericks Fall to Pacers

Luka Doncic once again fulfilled – more than – his part, but the Dallas Mavericks They fell again, this time before the Indiana Pacers by 120-137. The Slovenian finished the game with 39 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, but the Dallas Mavericks suffered their third straight loss on Tuesday and their fifth in the last six games.

This poor streak of results has come despite the fact that Doncic has four triple-doubles in his last four games, all of them with more than 30 points, thus joining Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook as the only ones in NBA history with such a feat.

After adding seven consecutive victories that invited maximum optimism, the Mavs have seen how the bad streak of results has come at the worst possible moment, since they are currently eighth in the West (34-28) with a minimal advantage over Los Angeles Lakers (34-29) and the Golden State Warriors (32-28).

Despair took hold of Doncic, who tried without luck to carry the team on his back and ended up with undeniably good numbers but with 15/30 in field goals, 4/13 in triples and 5 losses… and considerable anger .

Kyrie Irving (23 points and 7 rebounds), P.J. Washington (20 points and 7 rebounds) and Daniel Gafford (16 points and 10 rebounds) were the only ones who came to the aid of their leader, quite the opposite for the Pacers who had a great team performance.

Excluding Kendall Brown and Jarace Walker, who only stepped on the field in the last minute and with the result already decided, nine of the ten players used by Carlisle finished with double figures in scoring.

Myles Turner was the top scorer with 20 points, followed by Bennedict Mathurin (19 points), Tyrese Haliburton (19 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists) and Pascal I’m sorry (13 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists).
