Lakers co-owner Johnny Buss wants to become president

66 percent of the shares in the Los Angeles Lakers remain in the hands of the Buss family, with Jeanie representing the franchise as governor. Dr. Jerry Buss had six children, each of whom holds 11 percent of the Lakers – including his eldest son Johnny Buss.

The 67-year-old tends to stay in the background at the Lakers; his title is vice president of strategic development for the team. But now Buss has another task: he will take part in the presidential election in the USA as an independent candidate.

That’s why he created the website buss2024.comwhich reads the following statement: “I envision an America that leads with compassion, innovation and, above all, integrity. An America in which equality is not just an ideal, but a lived reality for every citizen. An America that whose policies are a promise to this planet and where education opens the doors to a better future.”

Buss’ chances are very slim; he will go to the polls in the USA in November. Incumbent President Joe Biden is running for the Democrats, while the Republicans will most likely send Donald Trump into the race again
