Ķekava/RB&B Takes Home Victory in Men’s Floorball League Quarter-Finals

“Ķekava/RB&B” shows character and extends the series

In the ELVI floorball league men’s quarter-final series between the teams “Talsu NSS/Krauzers” and “Ķekava/RB&B” there will be at least five games, because tonight the first victory was won by the Ķekava team, who were superior at home with 6:2. In the whole series, the Ķekava team is still behind – 1:2. Markus Januszewski scored two goals for the winners, and Andy Umbert Barrus was the top scorer with 3 (1+2) points.

The duel between the Talsa and Ķekava teams started in Kurzeme, where, although not without effort, the Talsi team won two games – 6:5 and 4:3. In the series up to four victories of one team, “Talsu NSS/Krauzers” took the lead with 2:0.

Starting the third match of the series at home, the Kekavians took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd minute after Andy Kleistrov’s accurate shot. In the 7th minute, Talsu floorball players responded with a goal – 1:1, a goal by Dylan Kronenthal. After the first period, the hosts were in the lead with 2:1, as Kārlis Degins had also scored his own goal. At the beginning of the second third, the guests once again managed to equalize the result – 2:2, a goal scored by Jānis Ragovskis. As it turned out later, it was the last goal of the Talsi players in this match. Until the second break, Toms Ľirāns and Markus Januševskis put the Čekava team in the lead with 4:2. In the 47th minute, Januszewski scored his second goal, making it 5-2, but Andy Umbert Barrus added the point to this match, who in the 58th minute sent the ball into the Talsi team’s already empty goal. “Ķekava/RB&B” could celebrate the victory with 6:2, but in the series, the Ķekava people are still in the role of chasers – 1:2.

Andy Umbert Barrus was recognized as the best player among the winners, who was the top scorer with 3 (1+2) points. Markus Januszewski scored two goals, and 2 (1+1) points were scored by Tom Keiran. Jānis Ragovskis, the author of the second goal, received the award for the best player in the Talsi team. The third game of the series will be played by both teams tomorrow, March 2, when they will meet again at the Ķekava sports complex. The match starts at 19.00.
