The Paris 2024 Olympics are just around the corner! As this event, awaited by the whole world, approaches, a true judo legend recently appeared at the Hervé Allari dojo in Saint-Laurent-du-Var! It’s Kosei Inoue!

This Japanese judoka, competing in the -100 kg category, made the history of the discipline by winning the gold medal at the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000.

He also won three world championship titles (1999, 2001, 2003) and two Asian championship titles (1998, 2002), not to mention his multiple national champion crowns in Japan.

And it was as part of a European tour, in collaboration with different national federations, that this fighter from the “Empire of the Rising Sun” stopped off in Saint-Laurent-du-Var.

On this occasion, he led a collective training session, bringing together judokas from the junior centers of Nice and Marseille, as well as licensees from the Stade Laurentin Judo.

Before taking to the tatami mats, the Japanese champion was greeted with honors by Joseph Segura, the mayor of Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Gilles Allari, the sports deputy, and Yoann Suau, the municipal councilor responsible for sports… all dressed in kimonos!

Lionel Gigli, president of the Paca judo league, the technical executives of the French Judo Federation and José Allari, president of the Stade Laurentin Judo, were also present for this event which will undoubtedly remain engraved in memories.

It should be noted that representatives of the Mizuno brand, sponsor of this tour, also attended the event.
