December 2019 – Judo children’s Christmas tournament in Isenbüttel
Tradition in the Gifhorn district: The Christmas tournament for children, organized by the judo section of MTV Isenbüttel. Here the youngest young judoka can try out what a big tournament is like.
So many children accepted the invitation to the Christmas tournament
Four girls and three boys from our division were there. For some it was their first tournament ever, so there was great curiosity and excitement. With two 1st places, a 2nd place and 4 third places in the respective weight pools, with certificates, medals and chocolate Santa Claus, the children were able to go home very satisfied – they represented our Leiferde judo talent very well. A special thank you also to our assistant trainers Jessica and Denise, who looked after our fighters during the tournament.

Peter is retiring
Peter Byczkowicz is still fondly remembered by many people from Leiferder – be it because he accompanied them to some extent during their childhood and youth as a judo trainer in our club, be it because joint teams were formed for competitions, be it, because he was always at the forefront of the activities of the judo clubs in the district, such as tournaments, courses, exams or camps.
At the 2019 Christmas tournament, Peter said goodbye to “judo retirement”.
