Two finals for gold and 3 finals for bronze.

For Italy also 7 passes for the 2023 European Games

The Azzurri at the European Championships in Munich (Ger) today gain access to the team finals of the men’s Olympic and women’s compound, while in the individual Roner will shoot for the bronze. Added to these podium matches is the challenge for the bronze medal in the mixed recurve achieved yesterday. Italy also achieved 7 passes out of 8 for the European Games (6 in the Olympic and 1 in the compound). Tomorrow Della Stua will also try to obtain the men’s compound pass. The compound finals will be played on Saturday and the matches for the Olympic podiums on Sunday.

A day full of satisfactions for Italy at the European Championships in Munich, Germany. The Azzurri gain access to three finals, two for team gold, one for individual bronze, in addition to yesterday’s mixed team final, as well as seven passes to the 2023 European Games.

Going in chronological order, on Saturday at 10.25 am the Italians Elisa Roner, Marcella Tonioli and Sara Ret will attack the European title by facing Great Britain in the women’s compound. In the individual Elisa Roner the individual bronze will be played at 2.45 pm.

On Sunday the Olympic men’s trio with Mauro Nespoli, Federico Musolesi and Alessandro Paoli will face Spain for the continental recurve title at around 11.20 am and at 2.00 pm Mauro Nespoli and Tatiana Andreoli will challenge Ukraine for the mixed team bronze.

All the finals will be broadcast live on the Olympic Channel, while the matches for the Azzurri’s medals will be broadcast on Rai Sport in the next few days.

SEVEN PASSES TO THE EUROPEAN GAMES

The excellent performances of the teams allow Italy to be the only nation to have already won all six passes available for the European Games 2023 in the Olympic period. As regards the compound (at the European Games the compounders compete in the individual and mixed team and therefore only one man and one woman from each country can qualify) Italy has already taken a lead thanks to the place in the final won by Elisa Roner. the women’s ticket, while tomorrow Valerio Della Stua will shoot in the qualifying tournament to try to get the eighth pass which would mean en plein for the Azzurri.

TWO FINALS FOR THE EUROPEAN TITLE

They fly to the final for gold Mauro Nespoli, Federico Musolesi and Alessandro Paoli in the men’s Olympic team competition. Italy will try to win the continental title in Sunday’s match at around 11.20am against the Spain of Acha, Alvarino and Castro. Clear path for the Azzurri who beat Portugal 6-2, Ukraine 5-4 in the shoot-off (27-26) and Great Britain 5-3 in the semi-final.
It will also be the final for gold for the women’s compound selection. Elisa Roner, Marcella Tonioli and Sara Ret on Saturday at 10.25 they will face Great Britain (Carpenter, Gibson, Stretton) after beating Holland 230-227 in quick succession today and Denmark 233-231.
THE OTHER TEAMS STOPPED IN THE QUARTERS

The other two Italian teams stop in the quarter-finals. In the women’s Olympic Tatiana Andreoli, Lucilla Boari and Elisabetta Mijno they win against Slovakia 5-3 but are then overcome by Slovenia 6-2. Same path for the compound trio Valerio Della Stua, Marco Bruno and Elia Fregnanfirst comes the 226-224 success over Sweden, then the 234-230 defeat against Austria.

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

Italy reached another final in the afternoon in Monaco thanks to Elisa Roner in the women’s compound race. The Italian beat the Polish Ksenija Markitantova 139-133, the Ukrainian Kseniia Shkliar 145-138 and Ella Gibson (GBR) 147-146. The Trentino athlete, however, is stopped in the semi-final by the other Briton, Isabelle Charpenter 146-142: on Saturday at around 2.45pm Roner will then play for the bronze against the Turkish Ayse Bera Suzer.

In the same race Marcella Tonioli loses in the round of 16 144-142 against the Belgian Sarah Prieels after 144-139 against the French Lola Grandjean; same path for Sara Ret winner 138-137 over the Dutch Sanne De Laat and knockout against the Turkish Suzer 143-142.
In the men’s Olympic arch it is Mauro Nespoli to make further progress than everyone else but fails to reach the medal zone after the 6-4 defeat against the Spaniard Daniel Castro in the quarter-finals. Previously the Italian Olympian had won in the play-off 6-5 (10-8) against the Belgian Jarno De Smedt and 6-4 against the Czech Adam Li. The scoreboard is one of Italy’s obstacles, in fact the derby between takes place in the round of 16 PaoliMusolesi with the second winning 7-3. In the round of 16, the young archer from Bologna finds himself ahead of Miguel Alvarino Garcia, Spain’s spearhead, who only wins in the shoot-off by a matter of 6-5 centimeters (X-10).
Tatiana does not go beyond the round of 16 Andreoli in the women’s competition, the Italian beat the Estonian Reena Parnat 6-4 6-4 but was defeated with the same result immediately afterwards by the Austrian Elisabeth Straka. Nothing to do for Elisabetta either My O who lost the match with the Turkish Gulnaz Coskun 6-2.
In the compound the only Italian to take to the firing line this afternoon is Valerio Della Stua who after 140-137 against the Estonian Evert Ressar, lost the challenge against the Dutch phenomenon Mike Schloesser 148-140.
