Italian Judokas Gear Up for Antalya Tournament in Pursuit of Paris Olympics Qualifications

Rome – The international Italian Judo tournaments continue at great pace, aiming to obtain the greatest number of qualifications from the Paris Olympics. The next appointment for Italy will be in Antalya in Türkiye. Over the Easter weekend, between March 29th and 31st, the Azzurri will be involved in the fifth Grand Slam of the season. It’s the last race before European Championships in Zagrebin Croatia (from 25 to 28 April).

Less than three months after the Ranking closes, the National Tricolor team is aiming for the maximum.

In Antalya, there will be a large Italian delegation made up of Assunta Scutto (-48 kg), Odette Giuffrida (-52 kg), Andrea Carlino and Angelo Pantano (-60 kg), Thauany David Capanni Dias and Veronica Toniolo (-57 kg), Flavia Favorini and Savita Russo (-63 kg) , Elios Manzi (-66 kg), Irene Pedrotti and Martina Esposito (-70 kg/IJF photo), Manuel Parlati and Edoardo Mella (-73 kg), Giorgia Stangherlin (-78 kg), Asya Tavano (+78 kg), Antonio Esposito (-81 kg) and Gennaro Pirelli (-100 kg).

The event will offer prizes a maximum of 1000 pointsfor each of the 14 weight categories.

Saturday 30 March: -63 kg (with Favorini and Russo), -70 kg (with Pedrotti and M. Esposito), -73 kg (with Parlati and Mella) and -81 kg (with A. Esposito)

Sunday 31 March: -78 kg (with Stangherlin), +78 kg (with Tavano) and -100 kg (with Pirelli)
