The Italian artistic pair formed by Sara Conti and Niccolò Macii finished in sixth place at the World Figure Skating Championships in Montreal, Canada. The other Italian pairing, that of the reigning European champions Lucrezia Beccari and Matteo Guarise, was ninth.
After obtaining the third score (72.88) in the short program on Wednesday, last night in the free program Conti and Macii made several errors on the jumping elements, receiving a score of 124.46: an overall total of 197.34, which saw them slip to sixth position . Not even Beccari and Guarise were able to express themselves in the best way, having to settle for 119.28 points in the free and 185.40 in total.
