And it came to a head – because William Christmas shortened the score to 70:71 with a three-pointer. Bayern pulled away again. Eight seconds before the final siren, Hamburg had possession of the ball at 70:73. And Brae Ivey did it, he scored the equalizer from outside with 5.7 seconds before the end. Bayern missed their chance to win – extra time! And that’s when things got exciting.

With the score at 80:81, the hosts had possession of the ball again 20 seconds before the end. But ex-NBA star Serge Ibaka blocked Aljami Durham’s last throw and secured victory for the Munich team. The Towers were denied a happy ending on this special day. Munich is now leader of the table. The Towers’ best thrower was Christmas (18 points).
