Guillermo Denis Beltrán died in full training

The Colombian player Guillermo Denis Beltran He died this Friday of respiratory arrest on Friday afternoon after fainting on the field during training for his club, Real Santa Cruz, in the first division of Bolivian soccer. He was 24 years old.

“He was training normally and he collapsed. They tried to revive him, but he died when he was being transferred to a clinic,” said the leader. Adolfo Soria Galvarro.

According to testimonies from his colleagues, Beltrán felt dizzy and collapsed in the middle of training. The club’s doctors tried to revive him, but when he did not react they called an ambulance. He died on the way to a clinic in the city of Santa Cruz.

The player’s mother was contacted by the club and is traveling to Santa Cruz, Soria Galvarro said.

The president of the Bolivian Football Federation, Fernando Costa, expressed his condolences and said that he will provide all collaboration to the club and the family. He announced that he will request “a report on what happened.”

In the 21 games he had played so far in the tournament, Beltrán scored one goal. Real Santa Cruz is among the bottom of Group A of the Apertura tournament of the Bolivian league. He had arrived from the Paraguayan club Rubio Ñu.
