BASEL, KOMPAS.TV – Indonesian women’s singles, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, failed to win the title at the 2024 Swiss Open after being defeated by Spanish representative Carolona Marin. Indonesia also had to be satisfied with just one title in the women’s doubles.

Competing at ST Jakobshalle, Bassel, Switzeeland, Sunday (24/3) evening WIB, Grego (his nickname-ed) lost in three games with a score of 21-19, 13-21 and 22-20.

In the first game, Gregoria started with a 4-0 lead, but Marin quickly brought the score closer to 1-4. Gregoria did not lose momentum, pulling away again with a score of 5-1.

However, Marin didn’t just give up, and managed to catch up with a score of 3-5. A long rally ensued, but Gregoria still led with 9-5.

Marin showed resilience by catching up to equalize the score at 14-14 and finally won the first game with a score of 21-19.

In the second game, Gregoria scored first with a score of 2-0, before long Marin immediately equalized the score at 2-2. Marin then managed to take control of the game by scoring six points in a row, leading with a score of 6-3.

Gregoria didn’t just give up, he managed to catch up and even took the lead with 8-6. Marin continued to chase, but Gregoria managed to maintain their lead until the interval with a score of 11-8.

After the interval, Marin again showed resilience by catching up to equalize the score at 14-14. However, Gregoria remained calm and finally won the second game with a score of 13-21.

When entering the deciding game, both players took turns scoring points, but Gregoria was able to take the lead with a score of 10-4 after a long rally.
