Wück proudly: “I am very much looking forward to the new task and consider it a great honor to be able to take on it. When the request came, I didn’t hesitate for long: coaching this team, further developing the existing individual quality of the players and thus making the team fit for success in the future is one of the most exciting and responsible tasks in German football.”

Wück will therefore remain part of the German Football Association. He sensationally celebrated the World Cup title with the U17 in Indonesia in December. He had not previously coached a women’s team.

Ex-national player Maren Meinert (50) will be Wück’s assistant coach. According to BILD information, the previous assistant Britta Carlson (46) is leaving. The team around captain Alexandra Popp was informed about the new line-up by email over the course of lunchtime.
