Georgia Lands Top QB Prospect Jared Curtis in Class of 2026

Georgia has its quarterback in the Class of 2026. Jared Curtis, who plays at Nashville (Tenn.) Christian School, committed to the Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon.

Curtis is ranked No. 9 overall and the No. 1 quarterback in the class in the 247Sports Composite. He chose the Bulldogs over a long list that includes Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Texas.

He is the first commit in Georgia’s 2026 class. The Bulldogs recently put the finishing touches on the top-ranked class in the 2024 cycle and have six commits, including two five-star prospects, in their 2025 class.

What does this mean for Georgia?

Anyone who has followed recruiting knows a lot can change between now and when Curtis can actually enroll at Georgia (presumably in January 2026) — especially since Georgia doesn’t have a current quarterback commitment for the 2025 class. The Bulldogs are still after JuJu Lewis, the five-star USC commit from Carrollton, Ga., who by flipping could change the dynamics for Curtis.

But if this holds over the next 20 months, and Curtis’ stock remains high, then it’s a very good get for Georgia. The attention, of course, remains on who it will get from the 2025 class, with four-stars Ryan Montgomery and Matt Zollers in the mix. That quarterback in the ’25 class will be very key, with Carson Beck expected to turn pro after next year and only Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi behind them. Georgia did try to get another quarterback for this year, but UNLV transfer Jayden Maiava flipped to USC after initially choosing the Bulldogs. Georgia will likely continue to look for depth at the position in the post-spring portal window.
