Brieuc Saillez, you have known everything with Gembloux. Is R1 your goal for next season?
I have only known Gembloux where I have been for 20 years. I played provincially but also in R1 and D3. It is clear that I would like to return to the R1 level because it is a great division and I think we are ready to go there. What’s more, I think it would also be a great reward for the club.
This year more than the previous two?
Yes. Because not only has the group gained in maturity, we see it in the management of more complicated matches, but also because unlike the two previous years, there is no longer a team that stands out like Braine last year and the CEP the year before. There’s no point in hiding, we were eliminated both times in the semi-finals, this season we want to do better and therefore reach the final and we don’t play a final to lose it.
You are fighting with Profondeville for first place but you must first go to Alleur before receiving the leaders. A tricky move?
Certainly because this team knows how to play basketball and also has quite a bit of experience. We had also lost at home but today, I think we have more advantages to put forward and our goal is indeed to receive Profondeville to play for first place.
