FC Bayern: Hoeneß also torpedoes the search for a coach

It seems completely puzzling why, just a few days before the semi-finals of the Champions League against Real, Hoeneß would bring even more unrest into a club that was already unsettled by the search for a coach – which he also commented on in detail – with such polarizing statements. In doing so, he is primarily damaging Tuchel and the team and ultimately the success of the entire club in the hunt for the Champions League title.

At the same time, Hoeneß is also damaging the new leadership team around Max Eberl and Christoph Freund that he installed. On the one hand, they now have to devote energy to internally moderating this topic. On the other hand, the behavior of the club patron is likely to make the already difficult search for a coach a little more difficult, as it is highly intimidating for potential candidates.

No coach wants this kind of disruptive noise, especially not the currently favored Rangnick. He ultimately celebrated his greatest successes as an all-powerful boss at smooth clubs without internal trench warfare, with the RB branches or TSG Hoffenheim. Hoeneß’ performance showed Rangnick once again in the middle of his decision-making process that such work at FC Bayern with Hoeneß is not even remotely possible.

Completely unpredictable cross shots have long been the rule for Hoeneß’, not the exception. He has lost his once excellent sense of moments and has thus developed into a problem for the FC Bayern he created himself. A sentence from Tuchel’s defense speech proves the power he has at the same time: “I wouldn’t have reacted to this statement at all if it hadn’t come from Uli Hoeneß, our boss.” By the way, the actual titles of the boss are honorary president and supervisory board.
