French team: decision this Friday for Mike Maignan, back in training

After missing the first three sessions of this gathering, Mike Maignan returned to training this Thursday afternoon at Clairefontaine. The goalkeeper of the French team, who has been experiencing a muscular problem in his hamstrings in recent days, carried out a specific session alongside goalkeeper coach Franck Raviot.

While doubt surrounded his participation in the friendly match against Germany on Saturday evening (9 p.m.), the presence of Mike Maignan in training indicates that the news is reassuring about him. The AC Milan goalkeeper is, to date, not out of this match against the Mannschaft.

A decision will be made this Friday afternoon, after the last training session scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Groupa Stadium in Lyon, to find out if he will be able to hold his place in the France team’s goal. No risks will be taken and the Blues staff will be attentive to the feelings of the player experiencing minor physical problems throughout the season. If Mike Maignan were to give up, Lensois Brice Samba, number 2 in the hierarchy, would replace him.

The rest of the squad was complete and enjoyed a generally light session before heading to the Rhône. Didier Deschamps’ men started with a classic warm-up before continuing with a big toro and specific work in front of goal for the attackers.
