No podium this Saturday for French judo in the Grand Slam organized in Turkey.
After the three podiums the day before – Luka Mkheidze in silver and Walide Khyar and Faïzar Mokdar in bronze – French judo did not shine this Saturday during the Antalya Grand Slam. Beyond the disappointing exit of Olympic selection Alpha Djalo in the under 81kg category, two other French people were in the running.
The one who did the best was Orlando Cazorla. In the under 73kg category, the judoka managed to get through two rounds, each time thanks to the penalty game, against the Romanian Petru Pelivan and the South Korean Heoncheol Kang, before losing by ippon against the Italian Manuel Parlati . Among the women, the young Melkia Auchecorne (19 years old) disappeared in her first fight in the under 63kg category – that of Clarisse Agbégnénou – against the Ukrainian Anastasiia Antipina.
