Former TSG Hoffenheim professional in the pillory

Former Hoffenheim Bundesliga professional Joshua Brenet is threatened with prison. According to media reports, a court in Almelo decided that the 30-year-old Dutchman must go to prison for a month because he was said to have driven without a valid driver’s license.

Brenet’s club, the Dutch first division team Twente Enschede, has already announced that it is now negotiating with Brenet’s management about the termination of his contract.

“Brenet will no longer play for FC Twente,” the club made clear in the statement.

In 2022, the right-back moved from TSG Hoffenheim to Enschede. In the current season he was part of the regular staff there, scored three goals in 20 games and prepared another.

For Hoffenheim, Brenet only made 22 competitive appearances in four seasons, one of which he spent on loan at Vitesse Arnheim.
