Former Patriots and Bills Running Back, Damien Harris, Announces Retirement

Harris, 27, played his first four seasons with the Patriots before signing with the Bills last year.

ORLANDO — The former running back of the New England Patriots y Buffalo Bills, Damien Harrisannounced his retirement in a post via Instagram this Monday night.

Harris wrote a statement where he said, among other things, “Today I am grateful that I have found the strength to walk away from the game I love so much.”

The only season of Harris with the Bills came to an end in Week 6 against the New York Giants. He was taken away by ambulance with neck and head injuries.

Harris27 years old, played his first four seasons with the Patriots before signing with Bills. He was recruited out of Alabama in the third round of 2019 NFL Draft. Harris He played 38 games with the Patriots, starting 34 of them. He dealt with a thigh injury during the 2022 season.

His best performance came in 2021 when he rushed for 929 yards and scored 15 rushing touchdowns. He had two 1,000-yard rushing seasons playing for Alabama.

Harris He thanked his wife and mentioned his first child, Dame Harris IIwho was born at the beginning of this month.
