The former partner of the director of Roland-Garros was, according to France Bleu, sentenced this Tuesday to four months in prison by the Bayonne court.

The Bayonne judicial court, this Tuesday, February 13, delivered the verdict of a trial which took place behind closed doors on January 23. Amélie Mauresmo, former world No. 1, current director of Roland-Garros, filed a complaint for harassment in June. Marie-Bénédicte Hurel, with whom she is currently in divorce proceedings, was found guilty and sentenced to four months in prison.

According to France Bleu, “married since July 2021, the current director of the Roland-Garros tournament, aged 44, took the initiative to divorce in 2023. Since then, she has been “living hell”, she says. Humiliations, blackmail, insults punctuate his daily life, including by SMS.”

According to France Bleu, his former partner “also prohibited from going near Amélie Mauresmo and to the home of her new partner. She must also pay one euro in damages. The prosecution had requested a ten-month suspended prison sentence.” The defendant’s lawyers announced that they would appeal the judgment.
