The ACF Fiorentina manager continues to receive intensive medical treatment after suffering a cardiac arrest shortly before Sunday’s Serie A visit to Atalanta Bergamo. As the club announced on Monday, general director Joe Barone underwent surgery in a Milan clinic.

The 57-year-old is in critical condition. A medical prognosis is not serious at this point. At the same time, the club confirmed that Barone had suffered a cardiac arrest. After the incident, Fiorentina’s game at Atalanta was canceled.
According to Italian media reports, the club’s players and coaches, as well as Barone’s wife, rushed to the San Raffaele hospital in northeast Milan, less than an hour’s drive from Bergamo. It was uncertain when the game between the two teams fighting for a place in the European Cup would be rescheduled.
Draw between Inter and Napoli
In the title race, Inter Milan had to be content with a draw against Napoli. The “Nerazzurri”, playing without the injured Marko Arnautovic, were ahead 1-0 on Sunday against the soon-to-be dethroned champions after a goal from Matteo Darmian (43rd), former Inter professional Juan Jesus (82nd) headed in from a corner but the compensation for the southern Italians. Inter’s lead over second Milan is still a whopping 14 points.
Napoli holt Remis bei Inter
Inter’s local rivals from Milan won 3-1 at Hellas Verona and extended their lead over third-placed Juventus to three points. The Turin team couldn’t get past a 0-0 draw against FC Genoa. Napoli are currently in seventh place.
