FC Bayern Defends Ultimatum to Alphonso Davies Amid Salary Dispute

Following the allegations made by Alphonso Davies’ advisor, sports director Max Eberl has now spoken out and defended FC Bayern’s decision to give the 23-year-old an ultimatum.

In an interview with “Sky”, the 50-year-old said: “Some stone has to fall. The club is still the strong part for me. Accordingly, it is completely legitimate that, regardless of whether it is Alphonso Davies or another player, at some point must also decide.”

According to reports, the annual salary offered by the German record champions is not enough for the Canadian. “We think that we have made a very fair and correct offer. It’s true that at some point in life you have to say yes or no,” Eberl clarifies and adds: “I can’t wait for St. Nicholas Day Wait and say that the decision will fall from heaven at some point. Decisions have to come, from all sides.”

Davies is tied to FC Bayern Munich until the summer of 2025, after which he could leave the club for a free transfer. “We are not under pressure. There is a normal relationship between player and club.” But public negotiations are a long way away.
