Like every year, the ASLB organizes a Family Sports Festival at the Bénouville gymnasium. “ This event is open to all, parents and children, with free access and without registration. The goal is for children and parents to play together », declares the president of the association, Patrice Lelièvre.
Various activities will be offered such as badminton, table tennis, floor ball, palm tennis, volleyball, tchouckball but also pétéca. “ It is a very popular sport in Brazil, which mixes volleyball, badminton and Basque pelota. This can be practiced outdoors or indoors and is played with two or more players. The pétéca is a kind of large shuttlecock made up of four large feathers on a rubber base. You can play it either with your hands or with your feet. Most often, this is played between two teams over a badminton net ».
The aim of this day is also to introduce the ASLB to Bénouvillais and why not to make them want to sign up for the many activities offered by the association. “ The most successful activities are gym and multisport with 66 children registered. As for Pilates, 109 adults take part in eight classes spread throughout the week. On the other hand, last year we set up two hip-hop classes which were initially very successful, but this year there are only 16 registered participants. We therefore risk closing a course due to lack of members. », deplores Patrice Lelièvre.
At the end of this sporting and festive day, a snack will be offered to participants.
