Exciting Results from Italian Night: NBA Recap 2023-2024

Nine games of the 2023-2024 NBA season were played on the Italian night . Among the most anticipated matches is certainly the one between Miami and Denver, but also the play-in “play-in” between Dallas and the Warriors. And Simone Fontecchio also took to the field. Let’s find out how the matches ended.

The Denver Nuggets win the big match of the day, beating the Miami Heat 88-100. But a much closer match than the score says, with the Nuggets acting as the hares, but the Heat coming back at the end of the third quarter. Denver needs a new acceleration to close it out, also with 25 points from Michael Porter Jr., while Nikola Jokic double-doubles with 12 points and 14 rebounds. The Detroit Pistons win again, beating the Toronto Raptors 113-104. This match is also decided in the last quarter and this time the absolute protagonist is Jalen Duren who finishes with a double double of 24 points and 23 rebounds. For Simone Fontecchio, however, 12 points on the scoresheet.

Important victory for the Dallas Mavericks who beat the Golden State Warriors 109-99 in a real playoff for the play-ins. Fourth consecutive success for the Mavs, still in control of the match, and it wasn’t enough for the Warriors to have the top scorer of the day, with 27 points from Jonathan Kuminga. Success also for the Orlando Magic who beat the Brooklyn Nets 114-106. Orlando leads right from the ball and leaves the Nets no chance, with the top scorer being Paolo Banchero with 21 points and 9 assists.

The Los Angeles Lakers lose to the Sacramento Kings 120-107. Play-in always in the balance for LeBron and his teammates, who hold out for a while, where they seem to be able to even conquer the Kings’ court, but then Sacramento runs away and the Lakers don’t need either Austin Reaves’ 28 points, or the triple double nearly achieved by James, who finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. Away victory for the Cleveland Cavaliers who beat the New Orleans Pelicans 95-116. Very balanced first quarter, then the Cavs extend the lead, but only in the last quarter are they able to make the decisive breakthrough and close the match. Top scorer, but not enough for the Pelicans, Zion Williamson with 33 points.

In the other matches of the day success in overtime for the Chicago Bulls who conquer the Indiana Pacers 129-132with 46 points from DeMar DeRozan; victory for the Charlotte Hornets at home to the Memphis Grizzlies 98-110, with 27 points from Miles Bridges; and finally success of the Portland Trail Blazers who beat the Atlanta Hawks 106-102for whom Dejounte Murray’s 40 points are not enough, while for Portland there are Anfernee Simons’ 36 points and 8 assists and Deandre Ayton’s double double with 33 points and 19 rebounds.
