Summer is approaching since many items on the agenda of the public meeting of March 12 concerned work on parks and green spaces in the City of Sainte-Julie.
Many young skateboarders have long hoped for the start of work on a new Skatepark and the municipal council awarded the contract for the construction and development of a plaza-style skateboard park at Park N .-P.-Lapierre to the company Marc-André Paysagiste for a total amount of $1,962,499.67 including the contingency reserve.
In addition, elected officials awarded the contract for reconstruction and development work on the baseball field at Arc-en-ciel school to the company Senterre, general contractor, for a sum of $423,719.99, including the reserve for unforeseen circumstances.
Finally, the City gave the mandate for repair work on cycle paths on Borduas Street and at N.-P.-Lapierre Park to the company Les Pavages Ultra for a total amount of $102,573.36.
And as these athletes are sometimes a little too energetic, the council agreed to join the purchasing group of the Union of Municipalities of Quebec (UMQ) with a view to awarding a liability insurance contract for the parks of roll-up, BMX tracks and similar developments located in the municipality, for the period from June 1, 2024 to May 31, 2029.
