The ladies of ESV-Tennis Bruck an der Mur were crowned Styrian national champions 2023/24 in the final against TSV Hartberg.
BRUCK/HARTBERG. In a highly dramatic final for the title in the Styrian Winter Championship, ESV-Tennis Bruck narrowly beat TSV Hartberg. After the 2:2 after the singles games and a 3:3 after the doubles, the better game ratio of 53:22 ultimately decided in favor of the Bruck team. This success against the Bundesliga newcomers from Hartberg is particularly worth mentioning because the East Styrian women competed in the final with two legionnaires from Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Every point was important
“It couldn’t be more exciting, in the end it was actually every point that mattered. Thanks to the unified team effort, our ladies managed to bring the title to Bruck. The fact that they succeeded against the two legionnaires from Hartberger obviously means even more to us “Because we consciously follow the Styrian path,” says the sporting director of ESV tennis Christian Mayer.
The Brucker women are also one of the big title contenders in the Landesliga A in the summer. Hartberg already secured promotion to the Bundesliga last year, and this year the Bruck women want to follow suit. With Jasmin Buchta, who now lives and works in Bruck, the Styrian champion will start the race as number one. The young players Leni Bischof and Nele Herbst are also among the regular players for the Bruck team.
