Enhancing Coaching Development: Judo Ontario and Judo Canada Welcome James Cunningham as NCCP Manager

Toronto, March 27, 2024 (Judo Canada) – Judo Ontario and Judo Canada are proud to announce a strengthened collaboration with the arrival of James Cunningham within Judo Canada as part-time Manager of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). Mr. Cunningham, who will also be promoted to Executive Director at Judo Ontario, will bring his expertise and dedication to the development of judo nationally.

Mr. Cunningham expressed his enthusiasm for this new professional challenge. “I am delighted with this new position created in collaboration with Judo Ontario and Judo Canada,” commented the man who will officially take up his duties on April 1.

“I will continue to work with the board and staff to increase member services and grow the sport in Ontario. I am also honored to take on the role of part-time manager of the NCCP and to leverage my knowledge and experience acquired in different national sports organizations. »

“We are thrilled to welcome James Cunningham to our team at Judo Canada,” said Nicolas Gill, general manager and director of high performance at Judo Canada. “With his experience at Judo Ontario, he is well equipped to ensure a smooth transition, especially with the imminent departure of our valued collaborator Andrzej Sadej. His appointment reflects our shared vision to strengthen judo across the country. »

Judo Ontario is also delighted with this new collaboration. Brian Kalsen, president of the provincial organization, highlighted the importance of this partnership for the development of coaches across the country. “We are proud to see one of our employees occupy a key role in coaching education in Canada,” he said. “James has played a pivotal role in advancing the development of Judo Ontario over the past year and we are confident that he will continue to excel in his new responsibilities. »

In accepting this new role, Mr Cunningham also highlighted the importance of coaches in sport. “They play a crucial role in any sport. I am pleased to be able to work with the many dedicated trainers to provide a quality educational program that ensures the implementation of safe and effective programs for all. »

This collaboration between Judo Ontario and Judo Canada promises to further strengthen the judo community nationally, with a focus on coaching development and continued improvement of the sport for all participants.
