Enea Bastianini, after her pole at Portimao: “I knew I was going to have a good qualifying”

Enea Bastianini (Ducati – 1st): “I am very satisfied, because since yesterday we have clearly demonstrated the potential of the bike. I knew I was going to have a good qualification. It’s my first pole with the official Ducati, it’s fantastic! And then after last year’s disaster (a fall during the Sprint prevented him from starting the GP), it really makes me happy. It’s a first step. We have the potential to win, even if other drivers are also very fast. »

Maverick Vinales (Aprilia – 2nd): “You always have to believe that it’s possible. We know we have the potential to be ahead. We know what we need to perform well. Yesterday (Friday), I had to force myself to get on the bike and find the right settings (he was sick). The sprint race is going to be complicated but starting at the front changes a lot of things, I’m ready. I will try to get the most out of the bike. »

Jorge Martin (Ducati Pramac – 3rd): “I had problems with the worn tires during testing this morning (Saturday) but I feel strong for the sprint and the Grand Prix. Tire choice will be key I think, because it’s difficult to overtake here. You have to try to brake late. »
