El Ceibo Overpowers Bochas Sport Club in Federal League Showdown

El Ceibo defeated Bochas Sport Club (Colonia Caroya) for the sixth round of the Federal League. The score ended 84 to 73 and the match had Tomás Aimaretti and Luciano García as top scorers.

It was a game full of emotions, but also featured last-minute losses on the San Francisco squad due to dengue.

With a solid defense and comfort throughout the court, the National Flower built its victory and closed the attack paths for the Caryoians. At the beginning the visit advanced by dint of three-pointers, but those from San Francisco pressed until they broke the match in their favor.

The return to effectiveness from the three-point line by Ignacio Zaffetti, the calmness in attack by Luciano García and Tomás Aimaretti who continues to raise his level were key in different parts of the match.

On the Bochas side, the irregularity of key players such as Juan Kelly or Ignacio Segura drew attention. In the final stretch of the third period and the last 10 minutes the difference reached 18 points in favor of those led by Lautaro Oitana.

The final whistle determined the victory for a decimated Ceibo without Pablo Grosso, Martín Sauco, Sebastián Fux and coach Eduardo Blengini, but with the spiritual solidity that characterizes its game strategy.

In this way, La Flor accumulated its fourth victory in a row and took away Bochas’ undefeated record, which coincidentally arrived with the same number of wins.

The San Francisco team’s next game will be as visitors against Julio de Morteros’ “Nueve” on March 27.
