Double Kata Competition Weekend in Pordenone: EJU Kata Tournament and National Grand Prix

Saturday in the gym of the Villanova Polisportiva and Sunday in the gym of the Flora a school Pordenone two traditional kata competitions are scheduled: theEJU Kata Tournament and the appointment with the National Grand Prix.

The EJU Kata Tournament, which has been stopping in Pordenone for 15 years now, has now registered the registration of 69 couples from 13 nations which, in this case, also include the cadet and junior classes. To precede the two days of competitions, a seminar for kata judges is scheduled for Friday.

“The seminar preceding the competition has become mandatory – said the EJU Head Kata Commissioner Slavisa Bradic– as well as the suitability exam for new judges. So far, 15 candidates have been registered to take the kata judge license exam.”

“Weekend with double appointment dedicated to Kata in Pordenone. -he commented instead Cesare Amorosi, member of the national kata commission – The Italian stage of the EJU Kata Torunament will take place on Saturday 23 March at the Sporthall Flora, which sees 152 athletes (76 couples) from 13 countries registered. Italy is present with 56 athletes (28 couples), distributed in the three age groups foreseen by the EJU regulations: Senior, Junior and Cadet, while the following day, Sunday 24 March, the National Grand Prix will be held which sees 184 athletes (92 couples) registered in the A1, A2, Under 18 categories. At the end of the EJU Kata Tournament, the National Kata Commission, present in full with the President Giovanni Strazzeri and the members Monica Piredda, Giosuè Erissini and Cesare Amorosi, will direct a training national reserved for couples registered for the Grand Prix and the EJU Kata Tournament, with the collaboration of the Federal Teachers Daniele Mainenti and Alessandro Furchì. The National Commission is very satisfied with the number of athletes registered and expects a judo weekend of great satisfaction under the banner of kata. Good luck to all participants!”.
