Tennis professional Dominic Thiem is experiencing a sense of success again after several setbacks.
The top seed from Lower Austria won his opening match against the Serbian world number 446 at the Challenger tournament in Zadar on Monday. Filip Krajinovic 6:2,7:6(4). His opponent in the round of 16 will be Lukas Neumayer from Salzburg or Mathys Erhard from France, who will meet on Tuesday.
Krajinovic, the former number 26 in the world, is fighting to return to his former strength after a long injury break, like former US Open winner Thiem.
The win against the 32-year-old is Thiem’s first main round success this year after first-round defeats in Brisbane, at the Australian Open and last week at a Challenger in Hungary.
