Dodgers Fans Excited to See Shohei Ohtani in Los Angeles

Even though they have already played two regular schedule games as part of their tour in South Korea last week, Dodgers and their fans were eager to see star Shohei Ohtani in his new colors in Los Angeles.

However, the Japanese was rather discreet in his team’s 7-1 victory against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday afternoon. He recorded two hits and one walk in three at-bat appearances. He also walked home plate on Freddie Freeman’s third-inning home run.

The latter was also particularly skillful for the Californian club, producing three points. Mookie Betts, meanwhile, had a bomb and an RBI.

On the mound, starter Tyler Glasnow (1-0) had an inspired performance, allowing just two hits and one run.

Paul Goldschmidt provided the Cardinals’ only response with a long ball in the fourth inning.

The two teams will meet again Friday evening.

Life without Ohtani gets off to a bad start for the Angels

Ohtani’s former club, the Los Angeles Angels, lost heavily to the Baltimore Orioles.

Indeed, Mike Trout’s teammates had to lower their flag by a heavy score of 11 to 3.

However, things started well for the Angels. Indeed, Trout sent the ball out of bounds in the first round to give his team a 1-0 lead. However, the party ended at this point for the Los Angeles club, which saw the Orioles offense explode afterwards.

The Maryland team went on to score 11 points in a row, notably thanks to home runs from Anthony Santander and Cedric Mullins. The former produced four runs in four at-bat appearances, while the latter allowed his team to add three runs to the scoreboard.

Starter Corbin Burnes (1-0) was relentless for Baltimore, making 11 strikeouts.

Big comeback for the Yankees

The first two innings were particularly complicated for the New York Yankees, but they still managed to win 5-4 against the Astros in Houston.

The Astros scored their four runs during this sequence. Singles from Chas McCormick and Yainer Diaz gave the Texas club a 3-0 lead in the first inning. A home run by Jake Meyers increased the advantage of the local favorites.

Juan Soto scored in the fifth inning with a single. Oswaldo Cabrera then tied the two teams 4-4 in the sixth inning, and it was a sacrifice fly from Alex Verdugo in the seventh inning that allowed Aaron Judge to score.

Jonathan Loaissiga (1-0) inherited the victory as a starter by pitching for two innings. He struck out an Astros batter.
