Irene Franchini, Marcella Tonioli and Elisa Roner lose only to the world champions India SHANGHAI (CHINA) (ITALPRESS) – Italy concludes the first stage of the World Cup in Shanghai (Chn) with the silver of the Italian compound team and the fourth place of the Olympic men’s trio. The excellent path of the last few days has brought Irene Franchini, Marcella Tonioli and Elisa Roner up to the challenge against the world champions India (Kaur, Swami, Vennam), a match played during the Italian night.
The match ends 236-225 with the opponents giving the Italians no chance to try the coup. In the other team matches, India also took the gold in the men’s thanks to the 238-231 success against the Netherlands and in the mixed team by beating Estonia 158-157.
