This Wednesday evening, during the last day of the Top 16 of the Champions League, Dijon won against Galatasaray (85-76) and therefore ended its European adventure on a good note.

A few days after having managed to qualify for the final of the Coupe de France (by beating two Pro B clubs in Trélazé), the JDA managed to move on to the Champions League. Indeed, although eliminated from the competition since last week after a defeat in Bonn, Dijon ended its European campaign with a great victory this Wednesday evening against Galatasaray (85-76). In their room, Laurent Legname’s players pleased their audience during the 6th and final day of the Top 16 of the Champions League. For this, the Burgundians took the match from the right end (18-14 in the first quarter) and did what was necessary before the break to break away definitively. By inflicting a 27-16 on the Turks at the end of the first period, the JDA thus had a comfortable mattress when returning to the locker room (+15)despite the good performance opposite Klemen Prepelic (16 points and 8 assists).

Dokossi scores huge double-double

In the second half, if Galatasaray tried to recover and managed to reduce the gap (46-40 in their favor after the break), Dijon did not give in and signed its second victory in this Top 16 of the Champions League, they who had already dominated the Turks in the first leg (96-93). This Wednesday evening, if Vitalis Chikoko (15 points and 7 rebounds) had a very good match for the locals, what can we say about that of his strong winger Allan Dokossi. Indeed, in just under 30 minutes of play against Galatasaray, the latter scored 16 points (7 of 13 shots) and also took 18 rebounds and also made three interceptions! The former Fos Provence player could logically be satisfied with his performance this Wednesday evening. From now on, Dijon (10th) will try to finish strong in Betclic Elite to finish in the top 8 and participate in the final phase in a few weeks.
