Detroit Lions Cut Ties with Cornerback Wanted for Domestic Violence

“We have ended the relationship with Cam Sutton,” the team wrote on their social networks, after it was announced last Thursday that thePolice asked the public for help in finding Sutton’s whereabouts.

The player has a warrant due to an incident that occurred on March 7, domestic violence and strangulation; and third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

According to reports from the County Police Department Hillsborough the 29 year old player tried to strangle a woman at a home located in Lutz, Florida, a suburb of Tampa, around five in the morning, Since that day the cornerback has been missing.

Last Thursday the police posted a message on their social networks in which requested help locating the former Lions player.

“The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office needs your help in locating the subject: 29-year-old Cameron Sutton. He is wanted for aggravated assault: domestic violence. If you have any information about the whereabouts of Cameron Sutton, please call us,” was the statement issued by the department.

Sutton came to the NFL selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of Draft del 2017. He remained in the franchise until 2022.

Last season he went to Detroit Lions, team with which he signed a contract for three years and 33 million dollars.

He proved his worth in the secondary defense as starter in 16 of the 17 games of the regular season and in the three playoff games that the team played.

In seven years in the NFL, the cornerback accumulates 233 tackleadas, two quarterback sacks, six forced fumbles, one recovered and nine interceptions.
